Clinic Cases – Dental Treatment Options
Patients who are toothless in the upper jaw
This is an example of dental rehabilitation with fixed teeth on the implants. The patient chooses the dental piercing on the prosthesis. In this case, it is made of an acrylic resin prosthesis (denture) , which is placed on the five implants in the upper jaw. This prosthesis is much more economic compared to the ceramic ones, and has a natural-looking appearance.
What are the stages of this treatment?
Stage 1 – After analysis and planning using diagnostic methods, such as TAC and Orthopantomogram, the surgery is performed in thirty minutes in the dental office. On that day, an acrylic resin prosthesis (denture) is placed on the upper jaw over the implants and supported by the gums. The patient uses a provisional denture for three months.
Stage 2 – The patient has to wait three months for the osseointegration process. After this period, an acrylic bridge is made. Due to economic reasons, the patient did not choose the ceramic bridge.
Treatment duration: One hour for surgery.
Osseointegration: Three months.
Fixed prosthesis: The manufacturing procedure takes four days.
Missing lateral teeth – Rehabilitation with implants and crowns.
This is an example of rehabilitation with fixed teeth and metal ceramic crowns. The patient had three missing teeth on the left side of the upper jaw, in the area of the pre-molars and molars. A ceramic bridge was made with three elements over two implants. The central pontic is supported by the gum between two implants.
Teeth missing in the central area – Rehabilitation with implants and zirconium crowns
This is an example of rehabilitation with implants and single zirconium crowns. The patient had two missing central incisors, and two lateral incisors.
Misaligned teeth – Rehabilitation with fixed orthodontics.
This is an example of dental correction with fixed orthodontics. The teeth were misaligned in the upper and lower jaw. The correction consisted of placing a fixed device for two years. The patient had monthly follow-up appointments. After a period of time, a retainer was placed. The rehabilitation included orthodontics, but also a ceramic crown on the central incisor. The treatment duration and type of device depend on each individual case.
Missing lateral teeth – Rehabilitation with a ceramic bridge.
This is an example of rehabilitation with two implants, and a three-ceramic bridge. The patient had two pre-molars and first molar missing. In this case, the third ceramic was supported by the gum close to the second molar.
Fractured central teeth – Rehabilitation with crowns over the teeth.
This is an example of rehabilitation with pure ceramic crowns over the teeth. The central teeth had fracture and tooth decay. The ceramic coats the remaining upper central teeth. This option is ideal for patients with tooth decay and healthy roots. Single crowns or a ceramic bridge can be used to fill the spaces where one or various teeth are missing. The ceramic bridge over the tooth can completely fill the space in the upper and lower jaw.
What are the stages of this treatment?
- Stage 1 – The tooth root is observed through the use of complementary diagnostic methods (x-ray, orthopantomogram). It may be necessary to use root canal treatment.
- Stage 2 – If the root does not need this endodontics treatment, the remaining teeth will be shaped into a rod. An acrylic provisional crown is placed. Ceramic crowns are produced in the laboratory and are based on adequate moulds made by the dentist.
- Stage 3 – Some tests will be made regarding the models, and the colour should be similar to adjacent teeth.
- Stage 4 – The crown is ready and is cemented onto a natural tooth.
Teeth same day – Immediate Implants
Immediate loading means the attachement of your chosen prosthesis to your dental implants. It is possible to attach a provisional acrylic brigde on the same day.
